o Dave Dobbins became the head coach of the St. John Fisher men’s lacrosse program after the 2017 season and has since elevated the Cardinals to national prominence. 

Entering his ninth season leading the Cardinals, Dobbins owns a 100-41 overall record and a dominant 57-4 mark against Empire 8 Conference teams, including regular-season and playoff contests. Fisher has won the E8 title and reached the NCAA Tournament in each of the last six seasons. The Cardinals have won a game in the national tournament in five of those years. 

A bevy of players have been recognized at the conference and national levels under Dobbins, including 10 multi-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-Americans. That lengthy list includes first-team selections Joe Post (2021, 2022) and Jack Mulvihill (2022), both of whom earned All-America honors three times. Post ended his collegiate career atop the Division III record book in career ground balls recovered (854) and faceoffs won (1,250). 

Two of Dobbins’ players – Post and Nicholas Miller, also a three-time USILA All-American – have played in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Post played for the Rochester Knighthawks, while Miller, Fisher’s all-time leader in goals (240), assists (125) and total points (365), played for the Buffalo Bandits. 

It didn’t take the Cardinals long to become one of the most consistent programs in Division III under Dobbins, the four-time Empire 8 Coach of the Year. The Cardinals posted a 12-6 record and reached the E8 championship in 2018, his first season as head coach, and had one of the best seasons in program history the following year. Fisher in 2019 set the program’s single-season wins record (17-3 overall), topped No. 10 Stevens for its first conference title and won an 11-10, double-overtime thriller over No. 11 Gettysburg for its first NCAA Tournament win.

Dobbins’ Cardinals had another breakthrough season in 2024, as they went on the deepest NCAA Tournament run in program history. After claiming its fifth straight Empire 8 title, Fisher knocked out No. 5 Wesleyan 15-13 and No. 4 St. Lawrence 11-10 en route to a matchup against eventual national champion Tufts in the national quarterfinals. 

Since 2021, the Cardinals own a 32-0 regular-season record and a 12-0 postseason record against Empire 8 teams. They have suffered only one loss to a current E8 team – Hartwick in 2018 – under Dobbins. Their last conference loss came to Stevens, now a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference, during the regular season in 2019. 

Dobbins spent one season as St. John Fisher’s associate head coach before being named the Cardinals’ head coach after Jon Johnson announced his retirement at the end of the 2017 season. 

A native of the Rochester area, Dobbins came to Fisher by way of the Ohio State University, where he served on the coaching staff from 2009- 14. He was the Buckeyes’ associate head coach in 2013, when they won the ECAC Tournament championship and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament, finishing 13-4 overall. That season stood as the best in program history until the 2017 Buckeyes went 16-5 overall and reached the national championship game. 

Dobbins’ first collegiate coaching job came as an assistant at Salisbury University, where he worked from 2003-09. With Dobbins on staff, the Seagulls went 121-5 and won NCAA Division III national championships in 2004, 2005 and 2007. The Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association named Dobbins its DIII Assistant Coach of the Year in 2005.

Dobbins played collegiate lacrosse at Division I Colgate University from 1998-2001. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Colgate and later received a Master of Education degree from Salisbury.

In addition to coaching Fisher, Dobbins has served as upstate New York’s director of '3d Lacrosse.’ The company works to provide innovative lacrosse training as well as recruiting showcases and premier lacrosse leagues across the United States.

Craig started with 3d in April, 2017 as the Senior Manager of our Upstate region. Craig brings over 18 years of competitive coaching and administration to 3d. For the last four years Craig worked with IMG Academy. During that time, Craig was the Offensive Coordinator, Junior Program Director, Goalie Coach and the Head Coach for the Junior Program. Craig also served as the Assistant Coach for both the National and Varsity Programs at IMG and the Community Outreach Advisor. As the Advisor for IMG, Craig trained and developed high school All-Americans and worked with families during the college recruitment process.

Craig is a Rochester, NY native and West Irondequoit graduate (2004). He attended Monroe Community College for two years where he received All-American honors and shattered innumerable scoring records. After transferring to Ithaca College he added two All-American and All-Conference honors, as well as, participated in the DIII National Tournament. During his career, Craig played Attack/Midfield where he scored 12 goals in postseason, four of which were in Ithaca’s NCAA Tournament victory over Cabrini.

He graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and a minor in Sports Psychology.

Craig resides in West Irondequoit with his wife (Renee) and their three children Chase, Olivia, and Liam.

Assistant Varsity Coach - Spencerport High School

Bill joined 3d Upstate in the Fall of 2017, where he led the 2020 and 2026 age groups in the boy’s program. He took over as Manager of the girl’s program in May of 2024. Bill brings over 15 years of Coaching experience to 3d Upstate, including 14 at the club level. He is currently the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Spencerport High School. Where he has led the upstart Rangers to many program firsts over the last 5 seasons. Before becoming the head coach at Spencerport, he was an assistant at Irondequoit and Aquinas at the high school level and was an Assistant Coach at St John Fisher College at the collegiate level. Bill started his coaching career as a defensive coordinator but has transitioned to working on the offensive side of the ball while continuing to specialize in goalie development. Bill was the lead recruiter while working for St John Fisher College. Bill has trained and developed several All Americans at the high school and college level.

A native of Rochester, Bill attended and graduated from Irondequoit High School in 2004. He attended Monroe Community College for two seasons, and upon graduation he held every statistical goalie record in school history, including 46 saves in a game for the Tribunes, while winning several national awards over his 2-year career. After transferring to St John Fisher College, Bill took on a mentoring role which fueled his desire to become a coach after graduation.

Bill graduated from St John Fisher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Inclusive Education. Bill resides in West Irondequoit with his wife (Marissa) and son (William IV).

Lyndsie Pratt is originally from Littleton, Colorado, where she played and coached with 3d Colorado. She is a graduate of SUNY Brockport, earning a degree in Sports Management, and was a four-year member, two-time captain, and All-Conference defender for the Women’s Lacrosse team. 

After graduating, Pratt relocated to Rochester, New York, to begin working full-time with 3d Upstate. In fall of 2022, she returned to SUNY Brockport as an assistant coach and, after three seasons with the program, was promoted to Associate Head Coach. 

Now residing in Irondequoit, NY, Pratt works across multiple brands within the 3STEP Sports family, including 3d Upstate, 3d National, 3d NE South, and Nations Best!

Associate Head Coach, SUNY Brockport

Dave joined the organization in 2014, before 3d took over the club, and has since led the 2021 and 2026 age groups through the program. He brings extensive coaching experience at both the high school and club levels, with a proven record of developing athletes and building successful programs. 

Dave served as the Head Coach at Penfield High School from 2022 to 2025, guiding the team to its first New York State Championship in program history in just four seasons. During that time, the team also won a sectional title for the first time since 2018, captured a New York State Regional Championship, and earned the Monroe County Division I Championship in the same season. In 2022, the program was honored with the Robert Carpenter Sportsmanship Award. Prior to Penfield, Dave was the Head Coach at Aquinas High School from 2017 to 2021, leading the program to its first ever Section V Finals appearance in 2021. 

His coaching accomplishments include mentoring two USA Lacrosse All-Academic selections and two USA Lacrosse All-American selections, as well as earning recognition as Monroe County Division I Coach of the Year and Section V Class A Coach of the Year for two consecutive years. He was also named USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year and All-Greater Rochester Coach of the Year. 

A native of Rochester, Dave played hockey at Monroe Community College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Nazareth College. He currently resides in the Park Avenue area of Rochester with his wife, Mara Karpp, the Fairport Girls Lacrosse Coach and State Champion, and their two golden retrievers.

I have been coaching women’s lacrosse for 19 years. I have also been with 3d Upstate since the start, coaching our 2029 Orange team since they were in 2nd grade. I am passionate about helping coaches grow as well as teaching how to deliver complex instruction to athletes in the most efficient and meaningful way.
