BILL BUTTARO

GIRLS MANAGER - UPSTATE

Bill joined 3d Upstate in the Fall of 2017, where he led the 2020 and 2026 age groups in the boy’s program. He took over as Manager of the girl’s program in May of 2024. Bill brings over 15 years of Coaching experience to 3d Upstate, including 14 at the club level. He is currently the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Spencerport High School. Where he has led the upstart Rangers to many program firsts over the last 5 seasons. Before becoming the head coach at Spencerport, he was an assistant at Irondequoit and Aquinas at the high school level and was an Assistant Coach at St John Fisher College at the collegiate level. Bill started his coaching career as a defensive coordinator but has transitioned to working on the offensive side of the ball while continuing to specialize in goalie development. Bill was the lead recruiter while working for St John Fisher College. Bill has trained and developed several All Americans at the high school and college level.

 

A native of Rochester, Bill attended and graduated from Irondequoit High School in 2004. He attended Monroe Community College for two seasons, and upon graduation he held every statistical goalie record in school history, including 46 saves in a game for the Tribunes, while winning several national awards over his 2-year career. After transferring to St John Fisher College, Bill took on a mentoring role which fueled his desire to become a coach after graduation.

 

Bill graduated from St John Fisher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Inclusive Education. Bill resides in West Irondequoit with his wife (Marissa) and son (William IV).
